What's wrong with being a "core gamer"? I've been one all my life!

@angelsx: Fair enough. :)

EDIT: Argh, meant to reply to "I bought ps4 only to play Battlefield 4 on next gen"

No offense, but if you hate indie games, why did you buy a PS4 rather than wait until next year? Sony were up-front about the fact that they were releasing loads of awesome indie games to fill the gaps until the big first-party releases.

Good news. I've been worried about The Crew's linearity after playing it at Gamescom, but if it has some big open levels to mess about with its cool weapons, there could be a lot more to this than just the story and visuals. Colour me a lot more excited now!

Yeah, serial key resellers are always good for a bargain. Usually get PSN and Xbox Live Credit that way!

@XisthatKid: Out of interest how much does 12 months usually cost Stateside? At exchange rate £30 works out at about $47.

It'll pay for itself soon enough with the instant game collection

Yawn. I love FF7 as much as the next guy, but I had it on PSOne, bought it on PC and have an unplayed Vita/PSX classic version on PSN. Not sure why this is news, or more to the point, why there aren't MORE PSOne games on PS4 anyway.

Har har. Seeing as the game is an HD version of defender (that's not a bad thing), I see what they did there.

Smart combo. PS4 for multiplats, Wii U for the Smash/Kart/Mario/Toad/Platinum Games goodness, followed by PS4's first-party splurge next year.

Best of all worlds really.

In fairness that could be revealed at the Video Game Awards, but yeah, you can bet that Sony will be showing it off too!

Oh man, some honesty about TLG would be ace.

Or better yet a reveal trailer. :P

@showtimefolks: Don't get me wrong, I like the art design, premise and that amazing Thermite gun. But the bit I played at Gamescom might as well have been a rail shooter with QTE sections. I hope that later levels properly open up and give us room to experiment with all the weapons.

@thanhgee: Yes, that's true. If it can deliver a really strong and interesting story, then a linear game might be the best way of doing that, and it might be enough to sell me down the lin...

Haha, that's some wishful thinking right there. In a worst case scenario Ninty could go software-only, but they're still a big company with a huge war chest left over from the Wii's success (easy to forget).

Yeah, Sony is going to bring it next year!

However, I'm worried about The Order. To me it looks like the PS4's Ryse - pretty, but incredibly linear and not much going on upstairs.

I'll probably be too busy playing Bloodborne to notice it anyway, so you know, priorities.

"Time for anime or more games to get Telltale releases"

Cowboy Bebop would be my shout. They could make some GREAT new stories in that universe.

@Revengeance: I suspect that Square doesn't want to release against Uncharted 4 on the same system. That'd be suicide! For them, they'd probably prefer for Xbox owners to get involved, then to sell loads more when the exclusivity expires later on PS4.

Exclusivity is healthy and I support it wholeheartedly... in terms of first-party games. Striving to outclass each other with head-to-head exclusive series keeps quality up.

But in terms of third-parties, I'm pretty sick of it, though it certainly makes buying choices much more interesting.

Though it also makes the PC an even more viable purchase/mainstream gaming platform IMO. As soon as someone really cracks affordable small form factor PCs with compara...

For me the best part of this interview is clarifying that Metacritic is literally meaningless.

"Bungie hasn't really explained the third subclass slot at all" might have been a more accurate headline.

"Also there's nothing wrong with listening to the big sites, just listen to multiple and actually *read* their content. Nobody is right all of the time, but here is value to opinions opposing your own."

Agreed. I can't help but think that people reading and digesting content rather than reacting to titles/headlines might help, though clickbaity headlines are arguably part of the problem.

As far as I'm concerned you shouldn't think ab...
